Job summary

Solaris Energy Infrastructure, Inc. seeks a QHSE Advisor to support projects within Quality, Safety and Environment management systems. You will help site teams minimize risks, maintain standards, and drive QHSE initiatives while auditing processes to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

The role involves leading incident investigations, coaching in hazard reporting, and delivering annual QHSE training. Occasional travel and field work are required to uphold safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree (or 6+ years of relevant work experience).
  • 4-6 years’ experience in quality, environment, health and safety.
  • Safety training experience desirable.
  • OSHA, NFPA 70E and related standards knowledge.
  • Hazard identification, safety equipment and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Champion continuous improvement in QHSE performance.
  • Produce regional QHSE statistics monthly; identify trends and drive actions.
  • Lead by example for QHSE KPIs and safety culture.
  • Communicate QHSE information accurately and timely.
  • Lead or assist incident investigations and near misses.
  • Coach employees in hazard identification and reporting.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders on QHSE and regulatory topics.
  • Provide leadership and safety coaching; be visible and approachable.
  • Coordinate annual QHSE training for new hires.
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly safety meetings.
  • Communicate QHSE standards to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Observe and advise on proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
  • Demonstrate proper use of PPE and site safety equipment.
  • Ensure PPE and safety supplies are available and accessible.
  • Represent Solaris QHSE at regional safety meetings.
  • Willing to travel; field travel could be 80-90% of scope.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and attending customer meetings.

Job Description

As a QHSE Advisor you will support several projects to meet the requirements of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards and seeking to minimize risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, and environmental standards. You will champion QHSE initiatives in the workplace while ensuring that QHSE processes are being adhered to (inspect / audit) in accordance with site standards, best practices, company requirement, and legislated standards for quality, health, safety, and environment.

Essential Functions
  • Champion continuous improvement in QHSE performance
  • Produce regional QHSE statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiatives
  • Lead by example for all QHSE KPIs (safe driving behavior, opportunity reporting, behavioral interventions, stop work authority, etc.)
  • Communicate QHSE related information on an accurate and timely basis
  • Lead or assist management in incident investigations and near misses
  • Coach and mentor employees on hazard identification and reporting of all incidents and near miss incidents by all personnel
  • Form and maintain positive, consultative relationships with outside stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in the areas related to QHSE, environmental compliance and quality
  • Provide ongoing leadership, coaching in safety while being visible, approachable and available to all levels, with the objective of continuously improving our safety culture
  • Coordinate and deliver regulatory and internally required annual QHSE training for new hires as directed
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly safety meetings to employees
  • Communicate QHSE standards to employees to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and industry standards
  • Observe employees to determine proper use of prescribed safety equipment and make related recommendations
  • Demonstrate the proper use of personal protective and site safety equipment
  • Ensure all personal protective equipment, site safety equipment and first aid supplies are adequate, available and readily accessible by crews
  • Represent Solaris QHSE at regional customer and industry safety meetings
  • Required to work a 24-hour call basis, be able/willing to travel as required, field travel will represent 80-90% of work scope.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and attending customer meetings as assigned.
Experience/Education
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree (or 6+ years of relevant work experience)
  • 4-6 years’ experience in quality, environment, health and safety
  • Safety Training Experience desirable
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E and other Electrical , Power Generation, Gas Pipeline industry related standards
  • Practical knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical equipment, power generation turbines and, natural gas pipeline systems
  • Working knowledge of hazard identification techniques, safety equipment, and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
