Job description

Kapitus has helped small and midsize businesses access capital for two decades, funding roughly $2 billion to date and building toward $6 billion and beyond. We originate, decision, fund, and service financing every day across a growing set of products and partner channels. As we scale, we are investing in the technology and quality foundation that growth depends on.

We are building an automated regression capability that lets us release faster with higher confidence, and we are hiring senior QE engineers to design and build the automated suites that make it real. You will work across the product with cross-functional teams, writing and maintaining scalable Playwright and TypeScript automation that runs in our pipelines and catches problems before customers do, and you will help convert today's manual regression into reliable, reusable automation.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with the team: Work with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Automate across layers: Design and implement automated coverage for functional, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios.
  • Build and maintain the framework: Design, develop, maintain, and optimize scalable automated frameworks and scripts using Playwright with TypeScript.
  • Validate API:. Develop and execute automated API tests to validate system functionality, integrations, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot with developers: Work closely with developers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, providing timely feedback.
  • Engage in Agile ceremonies: Take part in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Harden regression suites: Build and maintain reliable automated regression suites that validate software stability and release readiness.
  • Integrate into CI/CD. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, monitor results, and improve reliability and feedback speed.
  • Convert manual to automated: Convert existing manual test cases into automated coverage, capturing domain knowledge so nothing is lost as automation grows.
  • Stay current: Track fintech industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in QA and the financial domain.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5-7+ years as a QA or QE engineer, with substantial hands-on test-automation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, debug, and review automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of automation framework architecture, test design patterns, maintainability, and quality-engineering best practices.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and Swagger.
  • Experience testing Salesforce solutions and full-stack applications across UI, API, integration, and data layers.
  • Experience with version control including GitHub, Bitbucket, and SourceTree.
  • Experience with Jira for project and bug tracking, and Confluence and Zephyr Scale for documentation.
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum and experience working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Test automation: functional, regression, API, integration, and end-to-end automated testing.
  • Automation framework: advanced hands-on Playwright and TypeScript, or comparable modern automation technologies.
  • Application platforms: hands-on testing of Salesforce and full-stack applications, including front-end, back-end, API, integration, and data-layer validation.
  • API testing: Postman and Swagger.
  • Version control: GitHub, Bitbucket, SourceTree.
  • Project management and bug tracking: Jira.
  • Documentation: Confluence and Zephyr Scale.
  • Basic knowledge of security and performance testing.

Nice to Have:

  • Additional languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript.
  • Experience with Selenium, Pytest, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-computing concepts
