A solar energy company in Maryland is seeking a dedicated QA/QC Technician to support solar installation projects. You will conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of PV construction experience, familiarity with QA/QC platforms, and knowledge of electrical systems. Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site quality inspections at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Verify compliance with design specifications, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Document and track quality issues and non-conformities.

Position Summary:

Solar Gaines is expanding! We are seeking a dedicated QA/QC Technician to support our solar installation projects during the construction phase. This role is vital to ensuring all installations meet performance, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site quality inspections at all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Verify compliance with design specifications, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Document and track quality issues, non-conformities, and corrective actions
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of QA/QC checklists and standard procedures
  • Perform hands‑on field work when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical standards
  • Maintain clear communication with superintendents, project managers, and clients
  • Regularly inspect and maintain assigned PPE, tools, and equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PV construction, commissioning, or quality assurance
  • Familiarity with QA/QC or commissioning platforms (e.g., Procore)
  • Strong knowledge of DC electrical systems and PV components
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
  • Familiar with NEC and local PV installation codes
  • Excellent troubleshooting and coordination abilities
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs. and working at heights
  • Proficient in using computers and monitoring software
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • OSHA 30 Certification (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License (Required)
  • Journeyman Electrician License (Preferred, not required)
Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8‑hour shifts
