Job summary

U.S.-Silica in Vale, Oregon is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to perform routine sampling, basic lab testing, and document quality data under supervision.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to follow complex testing procedures. You will enter results into IFS and Excel, communicate findings to mill operators and supervisors, and support continuous quality improvement during night shifts.

Qualifications

• High level of safety and quality.
• Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace, work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) knowledge is preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Computer software is preferred.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.

• Performs all necessary quality testing for in-process and composites as required by SKU.
• Follows work instructions regarding testing, reporting, non-conforming product, etc.
• Enters data and test results into IFS daily and into excel spreadsheets as needed.
• Communicates regularly with mill operator, shift supervisor, production manager and quality manager on any changes to test results, in-process testing, etc.
• Calibration of all QC lab equipment.
• Conduct product sampling and testing.
• Record and report results accurately.
• Follow safety and environmental guidelines.
• Maintain lab equipment and cleanliness.
• Assist with data entry and quality documentation.
• Additional duties as assigned
