Job summary

EPM Scientific is partnering with a leading life sciences manufacturer to hire a QC Senior Scientist for raw materials testing in Portsmouth, NH. The role focuses on analytical testing, data integrity, and collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure material release.

The ideal candidate has a strong chemistry background with GMP experience, familiarity with LIMS/TrackWise/ELN, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline required.
• Experience in GMP-regulated pharma/biotech labs.
• Experience in QC/test methods and raw materials testing preferred.
• Familiarity with raw material testing, method transfers, and method validation preferred.
• Strong writing and documentation skills; knowledge of data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing to support raw material release and QC activities.
• Support method transfers, method validation, and investigations.
• Review data to ensure GMP compliance and data integrity.
• Author and review protocols, reports, and test methods.
• Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Support continuous improvement in the laboratory.
• Train and mentor junior staff on lab methods.
• Serve as SME on raw material testing and compliance activities.

QC Senior Scientist, Raw Materials
Portsmouth, NH (Onsite)

We're partnering with a leading life sciences manufacturing organization that is looking to add a QC Senior Scientist to support raw materials testing and laboratory operations at its Portsmouth, NH site.

This is a great opportunity for a scientist who enjoys solving technical challenges, working in a GMP-regulated environment, and contributing to the quality and release of materials used in the manufacture of critical therapies.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing to support raw material release and routine quality control activities
• Support method transfers, method validation, and laboratory investigations
• Review analytical data to ensure compliance with GMP and data integrity requirements
• Author and review protocols, reports, test methods, and technical documentation
• Participate in laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Supply Chain teams
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory
• Train and mentor junior team members on laboratory methods and best practices
• Serve as a subject matter expert on raw material testing and compliance-related activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline required
• Strong chemistry foundation required
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related laboratory environment
• Experience in Quality Control preferred
• Familiarity with raw material testing, method transfers, and analytical method validation
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Experience with laboratory quality systems such as LIMS, TrackWise, electronic laboratory notebooks, or similar platforms is a plus
• Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Ideal Background

• Scientists with 10+ years of industry experience and a strong chemistry background, or
• PhD-level scientists with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience
