Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a QC Engineer/Scientist I for our Frederick, MD site. You will perform QC testing of reagents and kits, ensure cGMP compliance, and support method development and investigations while maintaining a safe, efficient lab environment.

Qualifications

• Basic molecular biology and/or analytical chemical testing experience.
• Working knowledge of general cGMP lab compliance.
• Good pipetting technique.
• Strong quality-first mindset.
• Ability to perform independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs quality control testing of reagents and kits using various methods.
• Follow good laboratory practices and cGMP.
• Assist with Out of Specification investigations as appropriate.
• Update QC testing methods, SOPs and batch record forms.
• Maintain a team-first mindset and communicate effectively.
• Support product development programs and method validation.
• Initiates problem reporting and assists with root cause analysis for OOS.
• Perform peer review of QC data packets.
• Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
• Promote and uphold the Thermo Fisher 4 I values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, Involvement.
• Help maintain the QC laboratory in a safe, tidy, and efficient condition.
