Job summary

Barcel USA is seeking a Quality Control Operator to ensure products meet specifications through physicochemical analyses, measurements, and production monitoring. The role supports GMP, quality, and food safety compliance and contributes to a strong culture of quality.

Responsibilities include sampling, testing, CCP monitoring, record-keeping, and cross-contamination prevention, with additional duties as assigned. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Windows environment.
  • Ability to do math computation and calculation.
  • Time management.
  • Teamwork.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating professionally and effectively with others as well as being able to receive feedback from others.
  • High level of Integrity.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferably.

Responsibilities

  • Collect product samples and conduct routine quality checks to verify specifications.
  • Perform physicochemical analyses and measurement testing (weight, oxygen, etc.).
  • Monitor CCPs, process controls, defects, foreign material, and packaging integrity per food safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records of inspections, analyses, deviations, and actions.
  • Conduct GMP, Food Defense, hygiene, and sanitation verifications to support quality standards.
  • Support allergen control, color-coding, cleaning validation, and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Assist with quality investigations and root-cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
  • Promote a strong quality and food safety culture by adhering to procedures and reporting concerns.
  • Support the 5S program by keeping areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Comply with safety rules and help identify unsafe conditions.
  • Support all quality shifts and perform additional duties as assigned.

The Quality Control Operator ensures the products meet their respective specifications and quality standards by performing physicochemical analyzing, measurement testing, and monitoring steps of the production process. This role also supports and promotes a strong quality and food safety culture by following established procedures, identifying potential risks, and encouraging continuous compliance with GMP, quality, and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collect product samples and conduct routine quality checks throughout the production process to verify compliance with established specifications.
  • Perform physicochemical analyses and measurement testing, including finished product weight, oxygen levels, and other required product evaluations.
  • Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), process control points, product defects, foreign material controls, and packaging integrity in accordance with food safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality control records, including inspection results, laboratory analyses, deviations, corrective actions, and verification activities.
  • Conduct routine GMP, Food Defense, hygiene, and sanitation verification inspections to support compliance with Barcel USA quality and food safety standards.
  • Support allergen control, color-coding compliance, cleaning validation, and prevention of cross-contamination during production, changeovers, and start-ups.
  • Assist with quality and food safety investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions when product safety or quality may be affected.
  • Promote a strong quality and food safety culture by following established procedures, reinforcing GMP expectations, and promptly reporting concerns or nonconforming conditions.
  • Support the 5S program by keeping work areas, utensils, and equipment clean, organized, and ready for production use.
  • Comply with company safety rules and procedures and help identify opportunities to eliminate unsafe conditions.
  • Support all quality shifts as needed and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
