Position Overview:

The Supervisor of QC Microbiology supports and manages quality systems related to environmental control in an aseptic processing environment, including microbiology testing for customer products and GRAM operations. This role requires effective cross-functional interaction and team leadership to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. It is a working supervisor role covering two shifts, primarily involving microbiology and environmental monitoring activities with your team. The 2nd/3rd shift supervisor will split time between these shifts.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field and at least 5 years of microbiology laboratory experience supporting aseptic manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of QA principles and procedures in pharma, biopharma, or biotech manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior leadership experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily prioritization of routine, in-process, stability, and finished product testing.
  • Support daily operations related to environmental monitoring and critical utilities.
  • Lead training for new employees and maintain training documentation.
  • Support EIR system, laboratory investigations, CAPAs, and NCRs.
  • Oversee equipment use and calibration logs.
  • Maintain aseptic technique standards.
  • Assist in authoring or revising test methods and SOPs.
  • Review EM trending data and summary reports quarterly and annually.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of processes and tests.
  • Assess process/procedure changes for impact on microbiology testing.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and training sessions.
  • Coordinate with external testing labs and experts.
  • Serve as microbiology SME during client and regulatory audits, preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
