Job summary

Fresenius Kabi USA seeks a Scientist I in Quality Control Microbiology to advance microbiological testing methods and mentor junior analysts. The role covers environmental monitoring, finished product testing, and validations within a GMP environment.

You will ensure data integrity, SOP updates, and compliant documentation, while coordinating with QA and other departments to support product release and investigations.

Qualifications

• Experience with microbiology test methods and instrumentation.
• Mentoring and training of less experienced analysts.
• Knowledge of cGMPs and GLPs, and current compendial methods.
• Ability to review data for accuracy, completeness and conformance.
• Familiarity with LIMS (KabiTrack) and data recording processes.
• Strong communication and issue escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental monitoring by scheduling, coordinating and performing routine tasks.
• Perform microbial identification including sub-culture, Gram staining and culture maintenance.
• Assist in investigations (OOS/OOT/OOL) and document root causes and CAPA where applicable.
• Update SOPs or methods to remain current and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Coordinate testing and release of materials with QA systems and data entry.
• Perform finished product testing, in-process testing and related data collection.
• Contribute to validations and process validation studies for production and lab methods.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and calibrations.
