Job description

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
  1. Ensure the quality of the product meets customer standards, including:
  • Monitoring and recording product weights
  • Checking color, odor, and texture
  • Checking seal integrity and performing burst testing
  • Verifying product code, fill temperature, and quality
  • Completing tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer
  • Notify supervisor of any out-of-specification measurements after rechecking and documentation
  • Record information on Quality log sheets and input data into the Quality control computer for review
  • Participate as a team member: Engage in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices; attend team meetings; foster cohesiveness; identify and resolve issues related to team dynamics
  • Understand Simmons' operating systems principles and objectives: Be familiar with company systems related to quality, security, environment, and policies; communicate concerns and improvement ideas
  • Support business objectives by performing other duties as needed, encouraging creativity and flexibility in your role
  • Physical Activities: Sit, stand, and walk regularly during work
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, hair net
  • Travel: Not applicable
  • Technical Experience: Experience in manufacturing/process environments with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Industry Experience: Background in manufacturing
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Education: Some college or technical school
