DuBois Chemicals seeks a Lead Chemist to supervise and mentor junior chemists, oversee QC testing, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will design experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings across shifts and departments.

You will lead laboratory operations, address equipment issues, and drive process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project specifications.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of wet chemistry testing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in technical matters.
  • Able to lead quality assurance matters and communicate across locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor junior chemists and QC Chemists; train on laboratory procedures and equipment.
  • Oversee quality control to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and execute experiments; synthesize and analyze chemical compounds; use advanced analytical techniques.
  • Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare reports; troubleshoot and escalate as needed.
  • Manage laboratory operations, calibrations, and equipment maintenance; drive process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project specifications and improve ownership of quality.

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they are doing!We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.Key Responsibilities of a Lead Chemist:Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor junior chemists, providing training and guidance on laboratory procedures and equipment.Expectation to train QC Chemist, proper documentation, and provide action plan if not meeting the standards of the positionIf QC Chemist is not able to cover bench responsibility Lead Chemist must cover duties and hours.Quality Control:Ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of products by performing routine and specialized testing. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols.SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY. Ensure all people in the lab have proper PPEBench monitoring and leadership. Assessments of the QC ChemistTechnical Expertise:Design and execute experiments, synthesize and analyze chemical compounds, and utilize advanced analytical techniques.Expert in technical adjustment, and troubleshooting. QC Chemist troubleshoot basics; Lead Chemist troubleshoot advanced needs. If further expertise is needed escalate to QC Manager or R&D.Data Analysis and Interpretation:Analyze experimental data, draw meaningful conclusions, and prepare reports.Troubleshooting, If the QC Chemist cannot solve the adjustment issue. Provide support and if unable to solve escalate to QC ManagerLaboratory Operations:Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring proper maintenance and operation of equipment.Were calibrations completed by QC Chemist for shiftEquipment piece having issue, Due for 3rd party. Report these to QC ManagerProcess Improvement:Identify and implement improvements to laboratory processes and methodologies.Continuous improvement.
