Job Description

This role offers a blend of laboratory and plant-based work, where you will contribute to quality assurance and regulatory compliance functions. This position is primarily lab-based with opportunities to conduct inspections on the production line.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic lab tests, including pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and titrations on raw materials and batches.
  • Calculate batch adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect packaging lines for fill weight, cap torque, labels, and label placement conformance.
  • Document test and inspection results on both paper and electronic forms.
  • Review and maintain production records and files.
  • Inspect finished goods and received components for release.
  • Investigate quality complaints and nonconformances.
  • Maintain attention to detail and professional integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with both production staff and management.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in quality control, laboratory, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to read, edit, proofread, and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Proficiency in grammar and spelling.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency using Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemistry-related discipline or 1-2 years of quality experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in a science-related field with industry experience.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO-9001 and/or regulatory experience with FDA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA is a plus.

Work Environment

This role operates in an industrial environment with approximately 70% of the time spent in a climate-controlled lab and 30% in a non-climate-controlled plant. The position is a 2nd shift role, from 230 PM- 11 PM, with training hours that may differ. The company values long-term employee relationships, offering opportunities for exposure to diverse techniques and responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
