Job summary

Chromalloy in Tampa, FL is seeking a QC Inspector - Visual Inspector on the 3rd shift to support our aerospace manufacturing operations. You will perform visual inspections of parts and materials for cosmetic and process-related non-conformances, using calipers, micrometers and CMMs as required.

The role requires reading blueprints and applying basic math, with training provided. New hires attend orientation and first-week training, then transition to their assigned shift.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence; effectively present information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/GeoMagic.

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual inspection of parts/material for cosmetic non-conformances.
  • Inspecting parts/material for damaged material, nicks, raised material, burrs and assembly process errors.
  • Capability to use all standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, plugs and thread gauges.
  • Ability to use instruments such as optical comparator, height gauge and transfer stand with dial indicator.
  • Able to set up and run CMM in manual mode.
  • Ability to read blue prints.

QC Inspector - Visual Inspector 3rd shift

Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday 10:00p-6:00a

Shift Differential: $3.00

Training: New hires are required to attend New Hire Orientation (Monday, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) and first-week training (Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.). Additional training outside the assigned shift schedule may be required based on business needs or availability. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to their assigned shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCad / GeoMagic.
