Job summary

Abbott in Westfield, IN is seeking an Incoming Receiving Inspection professional to perform visual and dimensional inspections of materials before production. You will retrieve and prioritize inspection schedules from SAP, move materials to the inspection lab, and document results in RIP reports.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, accurate measurement with calipers and rulers, and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in Incoming Receiving Inspection or Quality Inspection.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a regulated industry; medical device experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers, rulers, and measuring devices.
• Experience following SOPs and inspection protocols.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and perform visual and dimensional inspections prior to production use.
• Retrieve inspection schedules from SAP and prioritize work based on FIFO requirements.
• Pull materials from the warehouse and transport them to the inspection lab for evaluation.
• Perform the Receiving Inspection Process (RIP) following documented procedures.
• Use inspection tools including calipers, rulers, hand tools, and other measuring equipment.
• Complete material inspection reports and ensure accurate documentation of results.
• Submit inspection reports for review and approval as required.
• Release approved materials in SAP for use in production.
• Identify, document, and elevate nonconforming materials per quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection workspace.
• Comply with all quality system requirements, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.

The base pay for this position is $14.55 – $29.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
