Job summary

The WellBoss Company is seeking a Quality Control Inspector Level 2 to ensure products meet specifications through detailed inspection and testing across internal manufacture, assembly, and supplier parts. Responsibilities

• Inspect products for defects and deviations per specifications.
• Perform visual inspections on received and sub-assembled products.
• Meet daily production goals and reduce returns.
• Set up thread inspection gauges and inspect complex parts.
• Perform pressure tests on final assemblies with assistance.
• Inspect packaged product ready for shipment or transfer.
• Calibrate equipment and maintain inventory movement in the system.

Description

The Quality Control Inspector Level 2 is responsible for the inspection and testing of all products for defects and deviations according to specifications, including parts manufactured internally, those assembled internally, and those received from outside vendors.

The Quality Control Inspector Level 2 is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

• Independent use of:
• Calipers.
• Depth gages.
• Ring and plug gages.
• Optical comparator.
• Height gauge.
• Visual software system.
• Identify features on a print.
• Visual inspections to identify damage, material issues and labeling mistakes.
• Operate the parts shaker.
• Move material to and from designated areas.
• Fill out and tag non-conforming parts.
• Perform visual inspection on received and sub-assembled product.
• Meet daily production goals.
• Maintain minimal returned products from other departments
• Inspect first articles with assistance.
• Inspecting thread features without inspection aids.
• Set up thread inspection gages.
• Create and inspect molds.
• Perform inspection on complex parts.
• Responsible for in process inspection to ensure quality production runs.
• Visual and thread inspection on final assemblies.
• Pressure test on final assemblies, with assistance.
• Inspect packaged product that is ready for shipment or transfer.
• Understanding of calibration systems.
• Perform basic calibration checks on equipment.
• Use the inventory system to move parts when needed.

Requirements

The Quality Control Inspector Level 2 must at a minimum possess the following:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Previous experience (3+ years) as an Inspector in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to liaise professionally with team members and system users.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks with moderate supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Quality Control Inspector Level 2 must be able to:

• Operate basic office machines, such as a computer, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.
• Lift a minimum of 50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
• Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
• Stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
