Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, specifications, and GD&T.
• Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
• Verify parts meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Document defects and nonconforming products and maintain inspection records.
• Communicate quality concerns with production, engineering, and management; support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Erie Industrial Products (EIP) is looking for a detail-oriented 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Oberlin, Ohio.
In this role, you'll inspect incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and established quality standards. You'll work closely with production and engineering to identify quality concerns, document inspection results, and help ensure every part meets requirements before it moves forward.

What You'll Do

• Inspect incoming materials, inprocess parts, and finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, specifications, and GD&T.
• Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Verify manufactured parts meet drawing, specification, and customer requirements.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects and nonconforming products.
• Maintain accurate inspection results, documentation, and quality records.
• Communicate quality concerns with production, engineering, and management.
• Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Support internal and external quality audits and follow established ISO 9001 procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• 13 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problemsolving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and consistently follow established quality procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear required PPE and safely work around manufacturing equipment.
