Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 1st shift QC Inspector at our Ghent, KY facility to perform incoming and final quality inspections, ensuring conformance to drawings and QA requirements. You will use calipers, micrometers, and other tools, and document NCRs when needed.

A retention bonus is offered and pre-employment checks apply. Required: high school diploma/GED, valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of Industrial Mechanic course, or equivalent certification.
• Preferred knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS application.
• MS Office Suite proficiency.
• Measuring tools proficiency (calipers, micrometers, indicators, optical levels).
• Mechanical drawing interpretation.
• Basic knowledge of raw materials and hardness testing; quality docs and NCRs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming inspections on machined parts per print and materials for compliance.
• Perform dimensional and hardness inspections using designated tools.
• Analyze test reports and certificates to verify conformity.
• Approve or reject materials and issue NCRs for non-conformances.
• Maintain tool calibration, numbering, storage, and care per QA lists.
• Prepare inspection documentation for in-house products.
• Generate and follow up on NCRs for non-conforming products.
• Ensure compliance with QA, EH&S procedures per requirements.
• Support the Supply Chain Manager and other duties as assigned.
• Perform final quality inspection on outgoing equipment per instructions.
