Overview
The QA Inspector performs dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts using hand tools and CMM equipment. Responsibilities include first article, in-process, and final inspections, along with accurate data entry into ProShop ERP. This role involves operating existing CMM programs to verify part conformity and assisting with basic CMM routines when needed. The inspector works closely with machinists and the quality team to identify non-conformances, verify setups, and ensure all parts meet print and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections at first article, in-process, and final stages.
- Use standard measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, indicators).
- Record inspection results accurately in ProShop ERP.
- Identify and document non-conformances and initiate containment.
- Support machinists during prove-outs and help validate setups before QC submission.
- Assist in maintaining gage tracking and calibration logs.
- Work collaboratively with CMM Programmer and Quality Manager on inspection strategy.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a CNC machining QA/QC environment.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
- High attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
- Experience with ProShop ERP and paperless workflows is a plus.
- Familiarity with AS9100D practices and documentation preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
