Actalent is seeking a QC / Formulation Chemist in Greensboro, NC to support product development and quality initiatives in a modern R&D lab. The role offers hands-on formulation development, analytical testing, and manufacturing support within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a chemistry degree and hands-on wet chemistry experience, with strong documentation skills and familiarity with industry test methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or closely related field required.
• Experience performing bench chemistry and QC testing.
• Familiarity with ASTM methods and standard analytical techniques.
• Strong documentation, data recording, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control and performance testing on specialty coatings and related materials.
• Conduct wet chemistry analyses, titrations, and physical property testing.
• Execute ASTM and other industry-standard test methods.
• Support formulation development and optimization projects.
• Conduct corrosion, weathering, humidity, and salt spray testing.
• Investigate customer complaints through testing and root cause analysis.
• Assist with product scale-up and manufacturing support activities.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation.
• Interpret test results and communicate findings to technical teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and technical service groups.
