Actalent in Greensboro, NC is seeking a QC / Formulation Chemist to support R&D and quality teams, with exposure to formulation development, analytical testing, and manufacturing support in a modern laboratory.

This contract role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), hands-on testing of coatings, and opportunities to work with experienced scientists across R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry; required.
• Laboratory testing experience through industry, internships, co-ops, or academic research.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques.
• Experience with wet chemistry and titration methods.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control and performance testing on specialty coatings and related materials.
• Perform wet chemistry analyses, titrations, and physical property testing.
• Execute ASTM and other industry-standard test methods.
• Support formulation development and optimization projects.
• Conduct corrosion, weathering, humidity, and salt spray testing.
• Investigate customer complaints through testing and root cause analysis.

What You'll Do

• Manufacturing or scale-up support experience

Job Type & Location

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
