Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a QC Engineer/Specialist to support a multi-year Savannah River Site construction project, including civil and mechanical work, grading, drainage, earthwork, and pipe infrastructure.

The role will verify compliance with QMS, ASME NQA-1, and DOE 414.1D, inspect grading and subgrade, witness field tests, review drawings and ITPs, and document nonconformances and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in quality control or construction inspection.
• Experience with civil/sitework, underground utilities, or similar construction.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Verify construction activities comply with QMS, ASME NQA-1, DOE 414.1D and project quality requirements.
• Inspect grading, excavation, backfill, drainage, demolition and civil work.
• Verify elevations, slopes, bedding, lift thickness, moisture and compaction.
• Witness field testing for soil density, moisture, compaction, aggregates and materials.
• Review inspection/test results against acceptance criteria and records.
• Identify nonconforming work, CAQs, and quality issues; support NCRs and corrective actions.
• Maintain traceable inspection reports, test records, and QA documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with Construction, Engineering, subcontractors, testing agencies, and Quality.
