Job summary

Actalent is seeking a QC Chemist for our Milwaukee-area laboratory. The role emphasizes release and in-process testing of materials and finished API products, with hands-on use of HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, KF, and IC.

You will interpret chromatographic data and ensure GMP-compliant documentation, contributing to method development in a growing organization. You will prepare solutions, perform calculations, document activities, and maintain instruments while adhering to deadlines and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology).
• 2–3 years of industrial chemist experience.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC and GC in QC/analytical lab.
• Experience with GMP or regulated quality systems.
• 2+ years using Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform release and in-process testing of materials and APIs.
• Follow procedures and specifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Execute wet and analytical chemistry techniques for QC.
• Operate instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, KF, IC).
• Interpret chromatography data and document results using Chemstation/Chromeleon.
• Assess materials against specs for release and document decisions.
• Perform and review calculations to support testing and data evaluation.
• Prepare standard solutions and perform calculations.
• Document GMP activities clearly and legibly.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on QC instrumentation.
• Review data calculations for validation.
• Provide information during customer complaints/resolutions.
• Write procedures, methods, and material specifications.
• Participate in training and ensure procedures are followed.
• Meet deadlines and testing schedules.
• Participate in structured training from observation to independent testing.
• Handle supplies and ensure proper setup of equipment.
• Lift up to 25 pounds.
