Job summary

Actalent in Ferndale, MI is seeking a dedicated QC Chemist to perform quality control analysis of products and raw materials in a newly built, fast-paced laboratory. This role supports inter-department projects and adheres to QC specifications, with a 6:00 am–2:30 pm Monday–Friday schedule and occasional overtime including Saturdays.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and at least 1 year of hands-on lab experience, including titrations, pH, and viscosity measurements,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry; biology degree may be considered.
• Minimum of 1 year hands-on laboratory experience including titrations, pH testing, and viscosity.
• Basic computer skills in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control analysis of products, raw materials, and special projects as needed.
• Analyze, approve or reject, and adjust products and raw materials based on QC specifications.
• Reexamine retained product samples when defects are suspected.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to ensure quality standards.
• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, including titrations, viscosity, pH, ICP, AA, and HPLC.
• Work with Manufacturing and Purchasing to maintain quality standards for raw materials and sources.
• Maintain and record test results in the computer system.
• Perform general laboratory housekeeping and other duties.

Essential Skills

• Basic computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
• Motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with ICP, AA, IFTR, and HPLC (experience can be from school).

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
