Job summary

Lesaffre Cedar Rapids seeks a Quality Control Analyst to perform testing, ensure GMP compliance, and drive lab efficiency. The role emphasizes safety, instrument handling, data integrity, and SOP oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or related scientific field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably GMP-regulated.
• Experience with laboratory safety protocols.
• Experience in a chemistry lab.
• Proven experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instruments (HPLC, ICP-OES, auto-titrators, nitrogen analyzers, pH meters).
• Experience with laboratory quality systems: writing/revising SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, vendor coordination.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with LIMS.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accurate results.
• Follow procedures, be organized, precise, and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates unwavering safety commitment by following protocols and safety programs.
• Assists in coordinating lab workload including stability, raw materials, finished product, and special requests.
• Coordinates and delegates laboratory testing by setting priorities based on operations.
• Assists in training and coordinating activities of other technicians.
• Revises and creates SOPs as needed.
• Tests materials using analytical instrumentation (HPLC, ICP-OES, auto titrators, pH meters).
• Records and evaluates data for completeness.
• Provides guidance and training to laboratory staff.
