Qualifications

Position Summary

The QC Analyst II is responsible for daily laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products. This role supports routine laboratory tasks, including environmental monitoring, equipment calibration/verification, raw material sampling, and laboratory analyses such as chromatography. The position also involves laboratory investigations.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform chemical testing using analytical instrumentation and wet bench techniques, including pH, Viscometers, FTIR, UV-VIS, TOC, Gas Chromatography, and Liquid Chromatography.
  2. Troubleshoot testing and instrumentation issues, including chromatography equipment, and document investigations.
  3. Complete laboratory investigations, including OOS and OOT.
  4. Edit and authorize laboratory SOPs as needed.
  5. Maintain QC lab metrics such as downtime and turnaround time.
  6. Sample raw materials for testing and release.
  7. Perform environmental monitoring sampling and analysis.
  8. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  9. Ensure data integrity and compliance with GMP documentation standards.
  10. Maintain accurate notebooks and analytical reports.
  11. Interpret and test according to USP standards.
  12. Support audit readiness and compliance with FDA and ISO regulations.
  13. Ensure timely performance of lab activities aligned with production schedules.
  14. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment (5S).
  15. Employ compliant laboratory techniques per industry standards and SOPs.
  16. Review testing processes for adherence to SOPs.
  17. Follow safety guidelines and SOPs to ensure cGMP compliance.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.

Education

  • Associate's degree in Chemistry or related field with 10 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 4 years of experience.

Experience

  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation, including GC and HPLC, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in an ISO or FDA-regulated environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office, LIMS, Empower, etc.
  • Laboratory Skills
    • Wet bench testing, standard preparation, weighing, chromatography, microbiology techniques, instrumentation troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • Ventilated, well-lit laboratory with workbenches, vented hoods, and suitable flooring.
  • High temperatures are common.
