Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Quality Control Analyst I for Microbial Control to support microbiological testing and monitoring activities. Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related science field
  • Limited experience in a laboratory or regulated environment preferred
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and aseptic practices preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in cleanroom environments, including performing physical tasks such as climbing ladders when needed

  • Perform microbiological testing for in-process, release, and stability samples with guidance
  • Support environmental and utility monitoring, including HVAC and facility sampling
  • Record and document test results following GMP and data integrity standards
  • Use laboratory systems and basic software to enter and manage data
  • Assist in identifying deviations and elevate issues to senior team members
  • Follow cGMP, GDP, and data integrity requirements in all assigned tasks
  • Participate in routine lab activities, including sample handling and cleaning

Job Title: Quality Control Analyst I – Microbial Control

Location: Portsmouth, NH, (On-site)

As a QC Analyst I in Microbial Control at our Portsmouth site, you will support microbiological testing and monitoring activities to help ensure the safety and quality of drug products. You will assist with laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and documentation while working under the guidance of experienced team members. This role is based onsite, where hands‑on laboratory work and collaboration are essential to maintaining quality and compliance with cGMP standards.

The position follows a Wednesday through Saturday schedule, working overnight from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Shift differentials are offered for Nights and Weekends worked.
