Job summary

NOOTER, an employee-owned company, seeks a Quality Control Inspector / QAQC Technician to ensure welding, piping, mechanical work, and fabrication meet customer specs and industry codes. You will perform field inspections, review drawings, and maintain inspection records to support safe, compliant, and high-quality construction projects.

The role requires a CWI certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 2+ years in industrial construction or QA/QC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in industrial construction, fabrication, mechanical construction, or QA/QC inspection.
• Knowledge of industrial construction practices and quality inspection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and related project documents.
• Ability to complete inspection reports, quality documentation, and project records accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem identification capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field-based construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of welding, piping, mechanical systems, structural components, and fabrication work to verify compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Review drawings, specifications, inspection test plans, and project documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming work; assist with corrective actions.
• Verify material traceability and participate in audits and testing activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and turnover documentation.
