Job summary

VYBOND SPECIALTY ADHESIVES LLC seeks a Test Engineer to perform a wide range of automotive tape tests, from functional to environmental, following external standards and internal requirements.

You will develop and execute test plans, interpret Ford/GM/Chrysler/Delphi standards, coordinate with external labs, analyze data, and report findings to cross-functional teams. Collaboration with R&D, production, and quality will drive improvements through testing methodologies.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of process control equipment and how processing conditions affect final product performance.
• Interpret external automotive testing standards (FORD, GM, CHRYSLER, DELPHI) and apply to testing.
• Develop, document, and execute test plans and protocols for new and existing products.
• Maintain test data in a database and prepare detailed reports for cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve performance.

Key Responsibilities:Perform functional, performance, durability, environmental, thermal, and chemical testing on automotive tapes in accordance to external standards and company requirementsDevelop, document, and execute test plans and protocols for new and existing productsInterpret and understand external automotive testing standards (e.g., FORD, GM, CHRYSLER, DELPHI)Work with external testing labs to get quotes, issue PO’s, and send out samples for testingAnalyze test data, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams for all internal and external testingMaintain all testing in a database for referenceCollaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot product issues and improve performanceContribute to continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodologies and quality assurance processesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Competence in the basic understanding of process control equipment and the interrelations of processing conditions versus final product performanceCompetence in peel adhesion, tack and shear testing, and other analytical techniquesEntrepreneurial and continuous innovation mindsetADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:General knowledge of chemical compatibilities, safety protocols & experience working in a laboratoryProficiency with MS office to record and report data in a professional mannerAbility to travel as needed (limited)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and results-oriented team playerStrong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
