Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a QA Tester for a global education and publishing company. The role focuses on manual testing across web applications, with opportunities to contribute to automation using Cypress and collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other QA professionals to ensure high-quality releases.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of QA experience, strong debugging and test-case writing skills, and comfort with Jira and SDLC/Agile.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in QA or software testing.
• Strong experience performing manual testing of web applications.
• Hands-on experience creating or maintaining automated test scripts using Cypress.
• Experience executing functional, regression, smoke, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience writing detailed test cases, test plans, and defect documentation.
• Experience working with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools for troubleshooting application issues.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test plans and perform exploratory testing across multiple web applications.
• Develop and maintain Cypress automated test scripts for critical user workflows.
• Validate new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and production releases through comprehensive regression testing.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and reproduce software defects while partnering closely with Engineering teams to drive resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and QA team members to ensure complete test coverage and high-quality releases.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities while continuously improving testing processes and automation coverage.
