Responsibilities

• Analyze quality data (defects, yields, test results) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement CAPA for nonconformances.
• Support supplier quality activities, including evaluation of incoming materials and components.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other quality requirements.
• Train production and test technicians on quality standards and procedures.
• Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection criteria, and test procedures for electro-mechanical test equipment.

Job Summary

Our client is looking for a QA Tester to join their team for a long term contract position in St. Louis, Missouri.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and specifications to ensure clear, testable quality requirements.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical assemblies, wiring, harnesses, and functional performance.
• Analyze quality data (defects, yields, test results) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformances.
• Support supplier quality activities, including evaluation of incoming materials and components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, customer and internal quality requirements).
• Train and support production and test technicians on quality standards, procedures, and workmanship criteria
• Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection criteria, and test procedures for electro-mechanical test equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

• Must have the ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Proven experience in quality assurance roles; supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quality management software (e.g., QMS platforms).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Combination of office and [factory/manufacturing floor/laboratory] environments; may require some travel to vendor or customer sites.
• Ability to work extended hours or shifts as needed to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent.
• Experience with quality assurance in manufacturing / fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
