Overview
  • Job Title: QA Test Manager - Multiple Levels Available
  • Cayuse Company: Cayuse Civil Services, LLC
  • Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid
  • Salary: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00

The QA Test Manager will lead the testing team. They will take full responsibility for the project's success. The role involves quality & test advocacy, resource planning & management, and resolution of issues that impede the testing effort.

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of QA engineers and testers
  • Define and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks
  • Oversee manual and automated testing processes to ensure coverage and efficiency
  • Develop and enforce QA standards, best practices, documentation, and metrics
  • Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software testers and QA engineers
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects and manage workload distribution
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement automated testing solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualification levels and other required qualities are described below. The list provided is not exhaustive.

Minimum Skills
  • Experience in writing and executing test cases as well as creating test plans
  • Knowledge of SaaS product testing, software usability concepts and software development lifecycle
  • Experience in managing testing process with creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test data for manual testing and automated scripts
  • Experience in writing/testing scripts in electronic medical records practice management, clinical, interface and billing workflows within an EHR application
  • Strong QA automation testing and scription experience using UFT (unified testing tool)
  • Strong knowledge of complex SQL query writing and database validation
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, regression, performance)
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management using tools such as ALM and Jira
  • Experience in generating manual and automated test scripts to support business requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional and articulate manner
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills with high-level attention to detail
  • Strong multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi‑functional team
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Leadership experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Expertise in Jira, Xray, and Jama
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work on‑site in the main office
  • Must reside in the Austin area
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet demands
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at a computer screen
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours
  • Travel costs, per diem, and other related expenses must be pre‑approved in compliance with State of Texas travel guidelines
