Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive automation strategy for web and service applications. You will design robust automation frameworks and integrate AI/ML-driven tooling to enhance testing accuracy and efficiency.

You will collaborate across Development, DevOps, and QA to embed automation in CI/CD pipelines, mentor engineers, and define KPIs to ensure alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in automation testing of web applications and APIs.
• Expertise in Playwright or similar automation frameworks.
• Experience with AI/ML tools and techniques in testing and defect management.
• Experience building MCP servers and integrating LLM agents.

What you'll be doing...

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive automation strategy for web and service applications.
• Design and manage scalable and robust automation frameworks for functional, performance, and regression testing.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML-driven tools to improve test case generation, defect prediction, and testing accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, DevOps, QA) to embed automation and AI solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in AI and automation, bringing innovative solutions to the organization.
• Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Define and track KPIs for automation and AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Manage resource allocation, budgets, and timelines for automation and AI projects.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
• Experience in automation testing of web applications, API's.
• Expertise in automation frameworks like Playwright or similar.
• Experience with AI/ML tools and techniques, particularly in testing and defect management.
• Experience building MCP servers, tools, and integrations connecting LLM agents to internal systems.
• Experience with developer AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Devin AI.

Even better if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong programming skills in languages like TypeScript, Python, or similar, with deep hands-on expertise using Playwright (with TypeScript).
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based testing environments.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to adapt to and drive change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis.
• Certifications in AI/ML or Automation Testing tools.
• Experience with tools like PyTorch, or other AI frameworks.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Where you'll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
