Work schedule: Normal business hours Monday-Friday 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Job Description / Justification:

Specialist 2, QA Test Automation Engineer.

The City Careers project will improve and replace the existing Job search service:

1. Front End Improvement - NYC.gov front end UI/UX refresh ·
   • Job Search ·
   • Job listings with filters ·
   • Job Posting · Job Application ·
   • Job Post to ATS backend for HR review
2. Middleware Implementation - development of middleware between existing PeopleSoft system and NYC.gov front end to enable job seekers to apply through job sites, send applications to hiring managers and make it easier to apply on NYC.gov

The QA Test Automation Engineer will test the highly available and flexible MyCity Careers application following industry best practices, comply with OTI security standards, work collaboratively under the direction of test leads, create and execute CI/CD pipelines for test automation deployment and modify and run automated tests used for QA Automation to test various applications built under the MyCity project.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The successful candidate will serve as a QA Test Automation Engineer reporting to the Applications division

TASKS:

1. Work with project managers, business analysts, development teams, as well as the business
2. customer to contribute to the process of gathering and reviewing requirements and ensuring that they are testable
3. Participate in requirements elicitation and generation
4. Review project documents and provide QA comments and sign off
5. Participate in development of the test approach based on established standards and the analysis of design documentation and requirements
6. Contribute to the design of the following deliverables: Test Strategy & Test Plan, Detailed Test
7. Cases, Test Scripts, Traceability Matrix, test estimates, progress reports for test execution, various defect, and statistical data reports, etc.
8. Assist or execute manual functional testing where applicable, log and assign defects and keep track of the defect status
9. Work with developers and support teams to resolve defects and environment issues
10. Load and maintain requirements and test cases in Quality Center and/or other Test/SDLC
11. management systems and/or Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) systems e.g. Azure DevOps.
12. Execute and track testing process using Azure DevOps.
13. Assist with development and execution of automated test scripts
14. Acquire and create test data and analyze/verify data
15. Participate in application troubleshooting and resolving production issues which may include but are not limited to:

• Propose, prepare and execute test scenarios to reproduce production issues in non production environments
• Research problems, and propose, design, execute, and document test cases to identify potential issues and to prevent application outages and production issues

16.Report test results to management in timely manner

17 Assist the support team in activities related to application deployment where applicable

18 Participate in environment maintenance activities when QA services are required

19 Maintain up to date documentation and ensure that it is entered into appropriate repositories and systems of record.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

At least 8 years of overall software testing experience

• A minimum of 7 years of QA Automation with experience with programming languages/frameworks such as Java and Selenium Webdriver
• 3+ years of solid hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS and knowledge of various cloud services
• Understanding of API Gateways, proxies, and concepts of securing API endpoints (e.g., rate limiting, API tokens)
• Experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and no-SQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases. · Experience with Git, Azure DevOps Pipelines or equivalent CI/CD tools
• A team player with excellent communication skills, both written and oral, interpersonal, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability to work with customers and other non-technical end users on complex issues
• Has a high degree of responsibility and can work as an independent contributor to accomplish program goals
• Must have sound technical writing skills and be able to produce clear documentation

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience using Azure services for App Service, Logic Apps, Blob Storage, Data Lake, etc.
• Knowledge of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services
• Experience with Azure Monitoring services
• Experience with Microfocus Loadrunner
