Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician is a critical part of the plant's food safety and quality system. They are responsible for monitoring, documenting, and enforcing policies, training key team members, and taking corrective actions when required.

This role is hands-on and highly interactive in a fast-paced, changing production environment. Key skills include quick risk assessment, team leadership, and plan execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operational inspections (visual, ATP/APC swabbing).
  • Monitor process controls (CCPs, allergens, foreign materials, labeling, packaging, product specs).
  • Collect samples for microbiological or chemical testing.
  • Troubleshoot deviations and take corrective actions.
  • Analyze data for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure product specifications.
  • Investigate customer feedback and incidents.
  • Review paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Interact with USDA FSIS inspectors and plant management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the QA Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience

At least 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing QA role or college education in a related field.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in English or Spanish, such as safety rules and procedures. Capable of completing checklists.
