Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician is a critical part of the plant's food safety and quality system. They are responsible for monitoring, documenting, enforcing policies, training team members, and taking corrective actions when needed.

This role is hands-on and requires interaction in a fast-paced, changing production environment. Key skills include risk assessment, team leadership, and plan execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operational inspections (visual, ATP/APC swabbing).
  • Monitor process controls (CCPs, allergen, foreign material, labeling, packaging, product specs).
  • Collect samples for microbiological or chemical testing.
  • Troubleshoot deviations and take corrective actions.
  • Document, analyze data, and drive improvements.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure specifications are met.
  • Investigate customer feedback and incidents promptly.
  • Review paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Interact with USDA FSIS inspectors and plant management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the QA Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience

At least 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing QA role or related college degree.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure documents in English or Spanish; complete checklists.
