Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure quality.
• Perform quality checks, measurements, and testing per procedures.
• Record inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality records.
• Identify, document, and report quality issues and assist with root-cause investigations.
• Verify compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Calibrate and maintain inspections and testing equipment as required.
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and production personnel.
• Assist plant personnel with food safety and sanitation issues as needed.
• Review sanitation programs and pre-operational sanitation tasks.
• Analyze documents for product chemistry like salts, moisture, fats, and proteins and notify supervisor of trends.
• Capable of swabs and validation tests; back up for technicians as needed.
• Support SQF audits and ensure GMP adherence.

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality throughout the manufacturing process. The position ensures that products meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The QA Technician conducts inspections, performs tests, documents result, and works with production teams to maintain and improve quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Perform quality checks, measurements, and testing using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Record inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality records.
• Identify, document, and report quality issues and defects. Assisting with investigating root causes of quality problems.
• Verify compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Calibrate and maintain inspections and testing equipment as required.
• Communicate quality concerns and recommendations to supervisors and production personnel.
• Assist the plant personnel when food safety and sanitation issues arise.
• Reviewing the sanitation program as needed, including pre-operational sanitation.
• Conduct pre-operational tasks to be compliant with food safety and quality regulations.
• Analyze documents for product chemistry specifically salts, moisture, fats, and proteins look for trends and notify the supervisor of any findings.
• Capable of doing swabs, validation tests, and back up for technicians when needed.
• Support SQF audits
• Ensure all staff within the facility follow GMP requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Work regularly in temperatures are near or below freezing (Coolers, Loading Dock Freezer)
• Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30 Degrees-Fabrication)
• Work in areas that require you to lift, pull, or push 50 lbs.
• Work with sharp knives or a cutting tool
• Willing and capable of working overtime when necessary
• Available to work Day and Nights
• Willing and capable of working Saturdays/Sundays

LIFTING/ PUSHING/PULLING – 10 lbs. -50 lbs. production

NEUTRAL WRIST –Repetitive hand motions and grasping.

REACHING – Reaching for product on the conveyor belt, reaching for boxes and lifting pork bellies from a big container

STANDING – Constant standing and walk throughs to different areas

Working Conditions:

• Subjected to hot/cold and wet environments
• Slippery floors
• Smoky areas
