Quality Assurance Technician

Fresh Mark in Salem, Ohio, is now hiring a 2nd shift Quality Technician.

The QA Technician performs a variety of quality control testing, including routine observations and monitoring of receiving, manufacturing, and processing activities to ensure products meet internal and external specifications and comply with regulations.

Salary: $19.00/hour

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree or certificate in food science or related field preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in Quality Assurance or related roles in a food processing facility preferred.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of FDA GMPs and HACCP principles.
  • Familiarity with modern food manufacturing processes and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct physical, analytical, microbial testing, and sensory evaluations according to QA protocols.
  • Perform process checks during production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing.
  • Coordinate environmental testing and sanitation audits.
  • Communicate test results and observations to relevant departments.
  • Assist line technicians and maintain QA documentation and reports.
  • Provide oversight to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Train employees on food safety practices and GMPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of QA activities and pre-shipment documentation.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
  • Sample and test raw materials and finished products.
  • Implement environmental monitoring and sanitation programs.
  • Ensure products meet specifications and report deviations.
  • Comply with all relevant safety and quality regulations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of food safety principles.
  • Ability to operate product testing equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data entry, interpretation, and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
