Job summary

Florida's Natural Growers in Umatilla, FL is seeking a QA Technician to monitor manufacturing processes and verify product quality against standards and regulatory requirements.

You will perform inspections, sampling, recordkeeping, and assist in investigations, audits, and continuous improvement, collaborating with production and quality teams.

The role requires a high school diploma, lab experience, and proficiency with MS Office; local, on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, with at least 1 year in a science lab.
  • Associate degree in Science or Bachelor's in a scientific field preferred.
  • Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • QA/USDA FQSC Certification testing knowledge or ability to pass.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final product inspections using established testing procedures and quality standards.
  • Conduct sampling and testing of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of test results, inspections, and non-conformances.
  • Assist in the investigation of quality issues, deviations, or customer complaints.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment in accordance with internal schedules and standards.
  • Support and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, ISO, or other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Communicate findings clearly with production, packaging, and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in internal audits, mock recalls, and corrective action processes.
  • Assist with documentation control, including SOPs, work instructions, and batch records.
  • Help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process reliability.

What You’ll Do: As a QA Technician, you are responsible for monitoring and verifying that manufacturing processes and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role performs routine inspections, tests, and documentation to ensure product consistency, safety, and compliance with internal and external specifications.

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a science laboratory setting.
  • Associate degree in Science (2 years) or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred.
  • Must possess strong reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry systems.
  • Must pass QA/USDA FQSC Certification testing in Grading, Product Holds, Computerized Line sheets and Check‑Loading.
  • 1-3 years of experience in QA/QC in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as GMP, ISO 9001, or HACCP.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Must be adaptable and capable of effectively prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Basic understanding of lab procedures and analytical testing equipment.
  • Non-smoker preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to pull samples from production lines, which involves walking, reaching, stretching, lifting, bending, and stooping.
  • Must be able to flavor several juice samples per hour.
  • Must be able to visually inspect products and samples with precision to distinguish color variations.
  • Use of PPE as required in production and lab areas.
