Job summary

Polydeck is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to inspect in-process and finished product to ensure items meet engineering standards. This on-site role is based at our Spartanburg, SC facility and offers day and night shift options with a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities include recording data, initiating non-conformances, and performing final quality inspections while supporting the shipping team and ISO auditing activities. Prior QA or manufacturing exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school or GED diploma.
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in quality a plus.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills entering data and using software packages such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate standard lab equipment, including Moisture Analyzer, Force Tester.
  • Operate a variety of measuring devices; some CMM driven.
  • Act as a customer representative.
  • Obtain ISO Internal Auditor credentials within the first year of service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of in-process and finished product by using inspection plans, blueprints, demand lists, and/or appropriate IE000 Engineering standards.
  • Complete all quality steps to verify conformance.
  • Support Receiving Inspection as required.
  • Record inspection and test data using Visual database.
  • Initiate non-conformances (NCMR’s) and Deviations if required.
  • Recommend standard rework practices to shop floor leadership. Inspects reworked parts for final acceptance.
  • Conduct final quality inspections on completed parts.
  • Work effectively with shipping team to optimize workflow throughput.
  • Perform basic device calibrations as required.
  • Maintain accurate data and records.
  • SupportVerify Before Uselog.
  • Serve as ISO Internal Auditor.
  • Serve as an on-shift resource for quality related operation training.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, 5S and safety practices in work area.
  • Perform related duties/testing as required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is performed in a non-conditioned manufacturing environment where dust, noise, and rubber odors are present. Employees regularly work with molding machines, hand tools, gauges, and related production equipment.

The role requires sufficient vision and hearing to perform essential duties safely and effectively. Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and other required PPE must be worn in the manufacturing facility. This position involves heavy work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires continuous standing and walking, frequent reaching and lifting/carrying, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
