Job summary

Lamb Weston is seeking a detail-oriented team member for our production quality role in Washington. You will perform tagging, sample products for grade analysis, and verify plant system operations to ensure optimal product quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and basic reading, math and English skills. You will work with safety-conscious processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Must read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Able to solve practical problems with concrete variables.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard software.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

  • Tag bulk product containers or pallets as directed by policy.
  • Sample bulk and finished products for attribute grade analysis per USDA criteria.
  • Sample products and facility to assess microbial presence and tolerance.
  • Verify operation of key plant systems like blanching, freezing, sanitizing, chlorination.
  • Audit production processes such as cutting, blanching, and freezing.
  • Communicate variances and tolerances to supervision.
  • Follow safety policies and report unsafe activities.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Job Description Summary

Job Purpose
Perform various grades, tagging, and product assignment functions to achieve optimum product quality. This position has a detailed list of job-related Pre-Qualification Requirements (PQRs).

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Correctly tag bulk product containers or pallets as prescribed by dept./company policy.
  • Sample bulk and/or finished products to perform attribute grade analysis based upon USDA grade criteria
  • Sample products and facility to establish microbial presence and tolerance.
  • Verify proper function or result of key plant systems such as blanching, freezing, sanitizing, and chlorination systems.
  • Audit production processes such as cutting, blanching, freezing, etc.
  • Communicate variances and excessive tolerances to proper supervisory personnel
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; three to six months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Basic personal computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
