Business Unit & Position Summary:

Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technology Group of Crane Co., a U.S.-based multinational company specializing in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. It features recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and scope-based, process-driven services.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director, Quality in maintaining the Crane Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in accordance with regulatory codes and standards. This includes conducting monthly safety audits, reviewing quality documents prior to shipment, scheduling training, reviewing purchase orders, and other QA activities. The role also involves maintaining the Document Control system. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational skills, strong technical capabilities, meticulousness, self-direction, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Review safety-related orders for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Complete processes related to receipt of equipment.
  • Support shipping by reviewing quality requirements, packing, and completing/shipping paperwork for domestic and international customers.
  • Review Field Service personnel qualifications for compliance with standards.
  • Perform annual evaluations of audited suppliers.
  • Assist with supplier audits.
  • Perform incoming receipt inspections for purchase order compliance.
  • Review and approve documentation packages for quality shipments.
  • Control and maintain Quality and Safety files, ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain records and controlled distribution logs.
  • Manage software distribution, including logs and license codes.
  • Participate in customer and regulatory audits as assigned.
  • Contribute to Crane Business System activities, including maintaining performance metrics and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use pallet jack and forklift to move products as necessary.
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly safety audits.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Director, Quality.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Associate degree or 1-2 years of experience in a similar role (considered in lieu of degree).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and basic clerical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
