About the Opportunity

A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a QA/QC Technician I to join its quality and testing team. About the Role

The QA/QC Technician I is responsible for supporting quality-control inspections, electrical testing, documentation, and functional verification of industrial equipment.

Working under the direction of experienced quality and test personnel, this position will help ensure equipment is properly assembled, tested, documented, and prepared for customer delivery.

This is a hands-on position well suited for someone with a background in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, automation, manufacturing, mechanical systems, or electrical testing.

Responsibilities
Quality & Testing
  • Assist quality and test technicians with daily inspection and testing activities.
  • Perform basic electrical and functional testing according to established procedures.
  • Assist with testing of industrial electrical equipment, including 24VDC systems and other low-voltage equipment.
  • Perform basic product-function tests and document results accurately.
  • Assist with QC hold-point inspections and identify potential quality issues or non-conformances.
  • Verify equipment and components against drawings, instructions, and established quality standards.
  • Support senior technicians during more advanced testing and inspection activities.
Electrical & Technical Support
  • Use basic electrical test equipment, including Fluke multimeters, safely and effectively.
  • Perform basic voltage, continuity, and resistance checks under appropriate supervision.
  • Learn to identify electrical components, wiring, sensors, switches, and control devices.
  • Use basic hand tools for inspection, testing, and equipment preparation.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical, controls, and mechanical issues as directed.
  • Develop familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.
Documentation
  • Accurately record inspection and test results.
  • Complete required quality and testing documentation.
  • Enter data into company systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Document identified quality issues and communicate them to senior technicians or quality personnel.
  • Maintain organized inspection and testing records.
Team & Professional Responsibilities
  • Work closely with quality, engineering, manufacturing, and testing personnel.
  • Assist senior technicians with QC inspections and testing activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Manage assigned tasks effectively and meet established deadlines.
  • Maintain professional and respectful working relationships with coworkers and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, electrical work, manufacturing, quality control, equipment testing, automation, or a related technical environment.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hourly employees, technicians, engineers, and management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance.
Preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, technical certificate, or related education.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience working with mechanical equipment, pumps, or industrial machinery.
  • Experience using a Fluke multimeter or other electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics or technical drawings.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, electrical, maintenance, or testing environment.
  • OSHA or electrical safety training.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for tools, equipment, inspection, and testing.
  • Ability to grip, handle, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and electrical equipment while following required safety procedures.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments for extended periods.

Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with an uncontrolled atmosphere. Employees may periodically encounter dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures or weather conditions.

All employees are expected to follow established safety procedures, complete required safety training, and wear appropriate PPE in designated areas.

This position provides a strong foundation for long-term growth in quality, electrical testing, controls, commissioning, manufacturing, and engineering support. Employees will receive hands-on training and mentorship while developing the technical skills necessary to take on increasingly complex responsibilities.
