Job summary

LINX is seeking a hands-on Low Voltage Quality and Training Specialist to own QA/QC for fiber and copper cabling on hyperscale data center projects. You will inspect against BICSI and TIA/EIA standards, train crews, and lead on-site quality assurance.

This role requires 3–5 years of cabling experience, strong knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to travel 100% to project sites nationwide. The job combines field inspections with mentorship and documentation to ensure repeatable

Job description

Pay: $25.00 – $40.00/hour

Travel Requirement: 100% full-time travel to one of our project sites nationwide. All travel expenses covered by the company and per diem is paid. Current travel locations include but are not limited to Monroe, LA, Conesville, OH, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Salt Lake City, UT.

LINX is hiring a Low Voltage Quality and Training Specialist to own QA/QC for fiber and copper cabling installations on hyperscale data center projects, paying $25.00 to $40.00 an hour. You'll inspect completed work against BICSI and TIA/EIA standards, catch and correct problems before they become the customer's problem and train the crews doing the installing.

This is a hands-on quality role, not a desk audit job. Daily activities include: job-site inspections, pre- and post-installation quality checks, and direct crew supervision and mentoring on structured cabling best practices.

What You'll Be Doing

QA/QC Inspection & Verification

• Conduct QA/QC inspections of network cabling projects to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements
• Perform job site inspections, report findings, and verify project scopes, including materials, equipment, and labor
• Conduct pre- and post-installation quality checks to validate cable connections, terminations, and overall system functionality, identifying and resolving defects or deficiencies

Crew Supervision & Corrective Action

• Supervise and guide cabling crews, ensuring efficiency and high-quality workmanship
• Collaborate with project managers to address deviations and recommend corrective actions

Quality Systems & Documentation

• Develop and implement quality control procedures, guidelines, and checklists; maintain detailed documentation of inspections and project progress

Training & Mentorship

• Train and mentor junior QC personnel to enhance skills and knowledge

Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate with clients and stakeholders on quality concerns and project updates
• Participate in project meetings and stay current with industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies

Minimum Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in network cabling, including fiber and copper installations
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and quality assurance processes
• Proficiency with cable testing tools, including Fluke DSX-600/8000 cable certifiers
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and heights
• Ability to lift, carry, and set up a 50-pound box or ladder
• Must own a complete set of personal low voltage hand tools (snips, strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
• Available to work 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime, and under deadline pressure
• Available for 100% travel to project sites nationwide (all travel expenses covered)
• Must pass a 7-year criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal

This Role Is Probably Not Right For You If

• You've never done hands-on fiber or copper cabling installation, this isn't an entry point for classroom trainers or office-based QA/compliance staff without field experience
• You'd rather keep installing than start inspecting, correcting, and teaching other people's work
• You're not comfortable pointing out a mistake to the same crew you work alongside every day
• You're not comfortable being on the road constantly — this is a 100% travel position with typical trips home about once a month while a project is active

• BICSI Technician or Installer certification, Copper or Optical Fiber
• OSHA 10
• Powder Actuated Tools Certification
• Confined Space Certification
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Manufacturer certifications for installation and maintenance (Fluke, Fujikura, Sumitomo, Corning, Hilti)
• Lift Certified
• High school diploma, Associate's degree, or technical degree a plus
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish, verbal
