Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball, Inc. is seeking a QA/QC support professional in Birmingham, AL to assist the QA/QC team with record development, data management, and management reporting. The role emphasizes independence, confidentiality, and attention to detail on construction-site tasks.

You will work with ASME/AWS/AWWA codes, manage quality records, and compile data books for turnover to clients, ensuring traceability of changes and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer application skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience reading and interpreting mechanical, structural & isometric drawings.
  • Plan and perform work activities independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with quality management systems involving ASME, AWS and AWWA mechanical codes.

Job description

We’re looking for someone to support our QA/QC team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will perform critical tasks. We will rely heavily on this person to maintain strict confidentiality and possess strong attention to detail skills and have desire to do non routine tasks.

What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver quality record development (hydro forms/civil forms etc.) for review and retention

What you’ll need (minimum qualifications):
  • Strong computer application skills
  • Minimum 3 years and above field experience with ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural & isometric drawings.
  • Plan and perform work activities independently
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with quality management systems involving ASME, AWS and AWWA mechanical codes.
  • Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in Quality Control activities on assigned projects at construction sites performing Welding, HVAC, Plumbing services.
  • Knowledge pertaining to welding (pipe, structural), pressure testing (pneumatic, hydrostatic), coating (paint, plating) and torquing (bolts, flanges, valves)
  • Process paperwork regarding material testing/inspection and QA/QC for NDE, Insulation, Ducting services.
  • Working onsite at field locations
Good to have:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Aptitude to learn new systems
  • Ability to train staff on necessary operations
  • Certification or extensive experience as a CWI, API, AI or NDE inspector.
