Job summary

Acroturn Industries USA, LLC in Tavares, FL is seeking a senior QA/QC Manager to design and implement a full AS9100-compliant quality management system from the ground up. You will lead the AS9100 certification effort and run day-to-day quality operations as a hands-on contributor.

The role requires extensive experience in precision machining, GD&T, CMM programming with Zeiss Calypso, and a proactive approach to corrective and preventive action, calibration, and supplier quality management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of quality experience in a precision machining environment.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining an AS9100/ISO 9001 quality system.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• CMM experience with standard inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of corrective and preventive action and document control.
• Able to be the sole quality person in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Design, document and implement an AS9100-compliant quality management system.
• Lead the company through AS9100 certification including internal and registrar audits.
• Write procedures, work instructions, inspection plans and forms; maintain document control and quality records.
• Perform first article (AS9102), in-process and final inspections.
• Program and operate Zeiss DuraMax CMM (Calypso).
• Track nonconformances and drive root-cause and corrective action.
• Manage calibration, material certifications and lot traceability.
• Handle supplier quality for outside processes (plating/heat treat).
• Serve as quality contact for customers including cert packages and export controls.

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 per year, depending on experience

Acroturn is a small, fast-growing precision CNC shop serving the aerospace and space industries. The QA/QC Manager is our first dedicated quality hire and will build our quality management system from the ground up, lead us to AS9100 certification, and run day-to-day quality operations. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role reporting to ownership.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary of $105,000–$125,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Paid time off.
• Commuter allowance to offset the cost of travel to and from the shop.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, on-site.
• Once the quality system is established, the schedule moves to Monday-Thursday on-site with Fridays worked remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, document and implement an AS9100-compliant quality management system.
• Lead the company through AS9100 certification, including internal audits and the registrar audit.

• Support compliance for export-controlled (ITAR) work.
• Help with general administrative and customer communication as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of quality experience in a precision machining environment.
• Hands-on experience building or maintaining an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality system.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• CMM experience, plus proficiency with standard inspection equipment.
• Working knowledge of corrective and preventive action and document control.
• Able to work independently as the only quality person in the shop.
• Must be a U.S. person ( or permanent ) because of ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience taking a shop through its first AS9100 certification.
• Zeiss Calypso programming experience.
• Experience with JobBOSS ERP software.
• AS9100 or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• ASQ certification (CQE, CQA or CMQ/OE).
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field.
• Experience with titanium or refractory metals.
