Job summary

Southland Industries in Brandywine, MD, is seeking a QA/QC Manager to oversee the implementation of quality control plans and ensure work meets contractual requirements on the project site.

You will develop QA/QC standards, review specs for code compliance, conduct field observations, and lead corrective actions while mentoring staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ConstructionManagement or related field, or equivalent education, training and/or experience.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, including 3 years of lead experience.
• Strong understanding of lean construction/manufacturing principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Oversee QA/QC plans to meet contract requirements.
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities at the project site.
• Develop, maintain and communicate QA/QC standards.
• Review project specifications for code compliance and constructability.
• Conduct field observations of MEP systems to determine compliance.
• Prepare for periodic quality control reports for management.
• Identify and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
• Maintain QA/QC records and correspondence.
• Organize and run QA/QC planning meetings.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to staff.
• Manage coordination of department activities, including costs, methods and staffing.

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the overall implementation ofquality control plans, ensuring the quality of the work meets the project’s contractual requirements. Manages andcoordinates allquality activities at the project site.

• Develops,maintainsand communicates QA/QC standards for the project.
• Reviews project specifications for code compliance and constructability within industry standards.
• Conducts and manages field observations of MEP systems todeterminecompliance with approved plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Preparesforperiodic quality control reports forthemanagement team.
• Recognizes and actively engages in the development of solutions to correct deficiencies in the project. Identifiesand directs corrective actionsasappropriate.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and correspondence,relativeto QA/QC work.
• Organizes and runs QC/QApreparatoryand planning meetings prior to work taking place infield.
• Provides coaching and performance feedback to direct reports as needed.
• Typically manages,perhaps throughsubordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs,methodsand staffing.

Pay

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington/Maryland/Virginia/DC) this ranges from $132,000.00 - $161,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
