Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a QA/QC leader to develop and manage the quality control plan for the division and ensure compliance with contract requirements. You will review specifications, conduct field observations of MEP systems, and prepare QA/QC reports for management.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred or applicable experience.
  • 7+ years’ applicable experience.
  • Experience reading technical documents, drawings and / or schematics.
  • Experience auditing systems, processes, products both internally and externally.
  • Experience in working with Quality Management Systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills necessary to achieve business and project results.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to set deadlines and adhere to project schedules.
  • Works well in team environments, self-starter, detail oriented, highly organized, holds others accountable.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls systems, along with general construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare regular periodic quality control reports for management team.
  • Recognize and actively engages in the development of solutions to correct deficiencies in the project; identifies and directs corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and correspondence, relative to QA / QC work.
  • Monitor status of work and ensures work is being installed per the latest contract documents.
  • Partner with detailing to ensure accurate install/fab and as-built drawings.
  • Organize and run QC/QA preparatory and planning meetings prior to work taking place in field.]

Job description

Position Summary

This role is responsible for developing and managing the quality control plan for the division. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the work meets each project’s contractual requirements.

Position Details

  • Develop, maintain and communicate QA/QC standards for the division and then any project level requirements that are more stringent.

  • Review project specifications for code compliance and constructability within industry standards. Work to help standardize specifications on SI’s design build projects.

  • Conduct and manage field observations of all MEP systems to determine compliance with approved plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
