Job Description - QA/QC Lab Technician – Ethanol Plant (250016U)

Description

Implements the quality assurance (QA/QC) program for the ethanol plant to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, supporting the company's policies, goals, and objectives.

1. Assists in implementing the plant QA/QC program.
2. Executes plant QA/QC procedures based on industry best practices by sampling at various process points and conducting QA/QC tests.
3. Ensures accurate analysis of samples and timely reporting of results.
4. Monitors and manages laboratory chemical and supply inventories.
5. Operates, maintains, and calibrates laboratory equipment.
6. Reviews reports, analyzes data, and recommends process adjustments to meet QA/QC standards.
7. Maintains compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
8. Ensures adherence to city, county, state, and federal regulations relevant to the QA/QC laboratory at all times.
9. Participates in laboratory safety programs.
10. Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
11. Demonstrates teamwork and initiative in daily tasks.
12. Coordinates activities with other departments.
13. Communicates with the production department to facilitate effective implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures.
14. Implements programs and procedures to ensure laboratory and plant cleanliness.
15. Develops a thorough understanding of the ethanol production process.

This position is hourly nonexempt, eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum one year of laboratory experience or an Associate’s degree in a related scientific or technical field required.
3. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.
4. Experience with QA/QC program implementation preferred.
5. Experience operating and troubleshooting automated laboratory equipment (e.g., HPLC, GC) preferred.
6. Experience with software such as Office, LIMS, Pi, or SAP preferred.
7. Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) preferred.
8. Willingness and ability to work on-site and in person required.
