Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery is seeking a QA/QC Inspector - Telecom in the Las Vegas area to support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for telecom infrastructure projects. You will perform field inspections, audits, testing verification, and quality reviews to ensure adherence to drawings, specs, and codes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years QA/QC, inspection, telecommunications construction, utility, or infrastructure experience.
• Experience inspecting wireless, fiber optic, FTTX, small cell, DAS, or telecom network construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and test reports.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, and documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and telecom safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of telecom infrastructure projects, including wireless sites, fiber optic networks, small cell deployments, DAS systems, and related facilities.
• Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, client requirements, and codes and standards.

• Inspect installation of conduit, fiber optic cable, grounding systems, equipment cabinets, antennas, radios, and related telecom infrastructure.
• Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and non-conformance issues and communicate findings to project teams.
• Assist in the administration and tracking of NCRs and verify completion of corrective actions.
• Review daily reports, test results, as-built documentation, closeout packages, and quality records for accuracy.

Job Description Summary:

The QA/QC Inspector - Telecom is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role conducts field inspections, audits, testing verification, and quality reviews to ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, client requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and company quality procedures.

The QA/QC Inspector works closely with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to identify quality concerns, document findings, and verify corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle.

Hourly Rate: $50-55 per hour, plus Per Diem, Company vehicle and Gas Card

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of telecom infrastructure projects, including wireless sites, fiber optic networks, small cell deployments, DAS systems, and related telecommunications facilities.
• Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, client requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct field audits and quality reviews of civil, structural, electrical, and telecommunications installations.
• Inspect installation of conduit, fiber optic cable, grounding systems, equipment cabinets, antennas, radios, and associated telecom infrastructure.
• Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and non-conformance issues and communicate findings to project teams.
• Assist in the administration and tracking of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify completion of corrective actions.
• Review daily reports, test results, as-built documentation, closeout packages, and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify testing activities including fiber optic testing, OTDR results, grounding verification, sweep testing, and other customer-required acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Participate in customer inspections, site walks, punch list development, and final acceptance activities.
• Ensure subcontractor work is performed in accordance with project quality requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, photographs, and documentation in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement on all assigned projects.
• Support project turnover activities and verify quality requirements have been satisfied prior to closeout.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of QA/QC, inspection, telecommunications construction, utility, or infrastructure experience.
• Experience inspecting wireless, fiber optic, FTTX, small cell, DAS, or telecommunications network construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of telecom construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Experience supporting major telecom carriers, broadband providers, or utility communications projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and test reports.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, and construction documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and telecom industry safety standards.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
