Overview
Manufacturing Data Technical Analyst — Pella, Iowa
Responsible for ensuring that all applications and product knowledge data adhere to high quality standards through integration, regression, systems and unit testing. Works under broad supervision with few direct instructions to create and execute various testing documentation based on technical and user requirements as well as understanding of the business process. Works beyond routine tasks while testing, planning, documenting and supporting systems. Percentages represent guidelines only and may vary by position and changing business needs.
Responsibilities
- Create Testing Documentation (approximately 30%): Review functional specifications, identify gaps in processes or functions based on knowledge, and develop test scripts, environment requirements, and scenarios to obtain expected results.
- Test Software and Product Knowledge Data (approximately 30%): Follow the test plan and timeline, conduct tests with consistent quality, and document results.
- Project Planning (approximately 15%): Establish plans for components of a project or complex components; identify risks, create traceability matrices, and track metrics through the project cycle; suggest remediation plans.
- Documentation (approximately 10%): Create and verify user documentation, identify information gaps, and provide improvement suggestions.
- System Support (approximately 10%): Provide support before, during, and after implementation; troubleshoot complex problems, document steps to reproduce, and recommend actions. Keep the project team and manager informed of issues, resolutions, and workarounds as applicable.
- Update Testing Metrics & Status (approximately 5%): Provide daily updates to the testing manager and project team.
Responsibilities outside of normal business hours
Minimal; on a rotating basis with other team members. Validate system operability after updates are released to production.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years related work experience or two-year degree with 4+ years related technical experience. Industry certifications can substitute for degree depending on specific technical area. Experience with an automated testing package such as QuickTest Pro or TestDrive is a plus.

- Data Quality & Validation
- Test and validate manufacturing data across integrated systems to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with business processes.
- Verify proper data flows to manufacturing systems (Oracle) from ordering systems and integration platforms.
- Ensure data consistency for fenestration product configurations and attributes, including specifications, pricing, and operational metrics.
- Process & System Testing
- Execute QA test plans for manufacturing data processes, including application functionality, reporting accuracy, and system interoperability.
- Identify and resolve issues before production deployment to maintain system stability and performance.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and business teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Document issues, create user-friendly workarounds, and communicate resolutions effectively to stakeholders.
- Keep team members informed of testing progress and readiness to reduce confusion.
- Data Analysis & Tools
- Utilize Benthic to manage SQL queries for Oracle databases and validate data behind the scenes.
- Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Project & Risk Management
- Provide accurate time estimates, manage QA project plans, and identify risks during testing phases.
- Implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy and reduce cycle time for product releases.
- Reporting & Metrics
- Develop and maintain QA dashboards and status reports via Integrations Portal and PowerBI.
- Track and report key quality metrics for manufacturing data integrity and system performance.
- Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of QA methodology and data validation techniques.
- Experience with manufacturing systems and ERP integrations (Oracle, POMS, PQM).
- Proficiency in SQL using Benthic for Oracle database queries is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for tracking work and defects.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; Excel experience is required.
- Ability to interpret complex data models and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, including fenestration product configurations and attributes.
